The College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR)– referred to as the Rose Bowl of college rodeo — wrapped up on Saturday, June 18, 2011 after crowning National Champions in eleven individual events and two team competitions.
The 3-0 win over Colorado on June 28 marked the first shutout in 10 MLS games for the defense. Kasey Keller made two saves and the Rapids were unable to convert a first-half penalty kick. An unsettled lineup contributed to an inability to earn a clean sheet in the previous nine games. Sounders FC posted shutouts in four of its first six games, and all five clean sheets have occurred in matches when the central core of Tyrone Marshall, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and Keller played the entire match. Prior to the Rapids match, Seattle’s last shutout was against San Jose (2-0) on April 25.
Once a month, Golf GTI offers Parents’ Night Out. For a fee, members and non-members can leave their children in care, with dinner, drink, and snack provided. This month it was held the 18th.
On a side note, if you are going to college because it is the thing to do, not because you actually care to learn anything, I encourage you to drop out as soon as possible, or to not show up at all.
THE SCORE: The game begins with a kickoff from mid-field that must travel at least ten yards. When one side is successful in crossing the opponent’s goal line, and actually touches the ball to the ground, this endeavor is called a try and is worth five points. The ball must be placed on the ground, crossing the goal line is not enough for a score. Once a try is made, a conversion kick is awarded representing a chance to add two more points. Two other kicks can put points on the scoreboard at any time during the game. A dropkick can be kicked through the goal posts anytime during play and it brings three points for a successful effort.
After a three-week break for SuperLiga, the Wizards resumed MLS play with the 1-0 home loss to Houston on July 4. Josh Wolff leads Kansas City with six goals. They will be without Arnaud, Jimmy Conrad and Roger Espinoza. Arnaud and Conrad are with the U.S. National Team for the Gold Cup while Espinoza was called in by Honduras.
Choi Kwang Do – Another Korean art, this concentrates mostly on the practical side of ‘what works in reality’. Kicks, generally, are not above the waist, and you will learn a variety of hand techniques, all designed to work ‘on the street’.
